The WAC Clearinghouse is designed to support the teaching of writing and speaking across the disciplines. We carry out our mission with support from a large community of scholars as well as a number of institutional and commercial partners.
The Clearinghouse is presented in partnership with the International Network of Writing-Across-the-Curriculum Programs. When you create an account on the Clearinghouse, you become a member of the Network. The Network exists to support the exchange of information and ideas concerning WAC, to support existing WAC programs, and to support institutions considering the development of WAC programs. Members of the Network can display information about the WAC programs at their institutions and can vote on issues brought to the membership by the Network's director and Board of Consultants.
Mike Palmquist, Associate Provost for Instructional Innovation at Colorado State University, has directed development of the this site since 1997 and its parent project, Writing@CSU (http://writing.colostate.edu), since 1992. He can be reached at (970) 491-5288 and Mike.Palmquist@ColoState.edu.
Funding for the project is provided from donations to the Colorado State University Foundation's fund supporting the WAC Clearinghouse.
In-kind and other forms of support are provided by Academic Computing and Network Services at Colorado State University, the National Council of Teachers of English, University Press of Colorado, CompPile, and the faculty and staff at Morgan Library, who have provided assistance digitizing and cataloging its books.
The overall WAC Clearinghouse site is designed, coded, and maintained by Mike Palmquist. Coding for Across the Disciplines is carried out by Michael Cripps.
