The fourth International Conference on English Across the Curriculum was held in December 2024. Focusing on EAC, WAC, and CLIL, the conference themes addressed the roles of these movements in learning and teaching; opportunities and implementation challenges; innovative pedagogical and assessment practices; designing programs and fostering collaboration; and integrating technology for language learning.
The Sixteenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held at Clemson University June 14-17, 2023. It was held in a hybrid format, with speakers and attendees participating in-person and via the web.
The third International Conference on English Across the Curriculum was held virtually as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hosted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's English Language Centre, the conference explored multiple perspectives on English Across the Curriculum (EAC) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). The conference aimed to expand the scholarship in these increasingly important aspects of education.
The Fifteenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was hosted by Colorado State University in a virtual format from August 2nd through 6th, 2021. It was originally scheduled for June 2020, but was postponed due to the complications brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Because the conference was held virtually, all sessions were recorded and are available through this archive.
Quinnipiac University’s 7th Biennial Conference on Critical Thinking and Writing brought together teacher-scholars working in Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines (WAC/WID) and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). It was held in June 2019
The second International Conference on English Across the Curriculum (EAC) was held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The conference and the pre-conference workshops explored ways to enhance students’ English literacy in discipline content subjects via collaborations between academics from different disciplines and language teaching units.
The Fourteenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held on the campus of Auburn University on June 4th through 6th, 2018. The conference was directe by Margaret Marshall and hosted by the Auburn Office of University Writing. The conference planning committee included Christopher Basgier, Tricia Dozier, Nicole Gamache, Heather Stuart, and James Truman.
The Thirteenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on June 23 through 25, 2016. The conference was organized by Anne Ruggles Gere, Raymond McDaniel, Shelley Manis, Christine Modey, Simone Sessolo, and Naomi Silver and hosted by the Gayle Morris Sweetland Center for Writing.
The International Conference on English Across the Curriculum 2015 was a two-day conference that brought together academics from different disciplines and language teaching units to explore ways to enhance students' English in discipline content subjects.
The Twelfth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held in the Commons Hotel on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis on June 12 through 14, 2014. The conference was chaired by Pamela Flash and hosted by the University of Minnesota's Writing Across the Curriculum Program, Office of Undergraduate Education, and College of Continuing Education.
The Eleventh International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah, Georgia, June 7 through 9, 2012. The conference was hosted by the Georgia Southern University and co-sponsored by CITL Writing Program, Indiana University. The conference was co-directed by Michael Pemberton, Randall McClure, and Janice Walker. J. Marie Lutz served as conference coordinator.
The Tenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held at Indiana University in Bloomington May 20 through 22, 2010. The conference was co-sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin. The conference co-directors were Laura Plummer and Jo Ann Vogt. John Peterson served as conference coordinator and Holly Schreiber served as assistant coordinator.
The Ninth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held at the University of Texas in Austin May 29 through 31, 2008, with assistance from Clemson University, Indiana University, and Utah State University Press. The conference co-directors were Joan Mullin and Susan "George" Schorn.
The Eighth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference was held at Clemson University May 18 through 20, 2006. The conference was hosted with assistance from Columbia College, Cornell University. Miami University, and the University of Missouri, Columbia. The conference co-directors were Art Young and Kathi Yancey.
WAC 2004, the Seventh National Writing Across the Curriculum Conferencem, was held May 20-22 in St. Louis, Missouri. The conference was hosted by the Campus Writing Program at the University of Missouri-Columbiay. The conference was directed by Martha A. Townsend. Martha Davis Patton served as assistant director.
WAC 2002, the Sixth National Writing Across the Curriculum Conference, was held March 7-9 in Houston. The conference theme was "Writing the Future: Leadership, Policies, and Classroom Practices."
This three-day conference -- held April 3-5, 2003 at Snow King Resort in Jackson, Wyoming -- brought together college and university faculty and others interested in teaching writing and critical thinking skills in agriculture and related disciplines.
