Expectations of a WAC Repository Reviewer
Review one-to-three submissions per year.
Return reviews in about four weeks.
Work with the editors to submit the review paperwork as needed.
Offer constructive comments and make recommendations for publication.
Reviewer Responsibilities to Submitters
Provide constructive feedback in a timely manner on the merits and value of the work.
Indicate the strengths and weaknesses (avoid personal criticism) of the submissions taking into consideration the WAC Repository’s readership.
Maintain the confidentiality of the review process.
Reviewer Responsibilities to Editors
Respond to the editors' reviewing request in a timely manner.
Comply with the review instructions regarding the scope, content, strategies and quality of review.
Provide thoughtful, fair, and specific feedback on submissions.
Recommend acceptance, accept with minor revisions, revision and resubmission, or rejection with appropriate rationale.
Qualifications
Some experience in editing/reviewing work.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with WAC work or WAC scholarship.
Professionalism to meet review deadlines and perform ethically during the review process.
