The search for associate editors for our book series is now closed and applications are under review. The original call follows:
The WAC Clearinghouse has been growing over the past few years. With that in mind, we’re opening some new positions with our book series. These positions reflect our commitment to training and mentoring the next generation of editors. Please consider applying for these positions.
The WAC Clearinghouse seeks associate editors for the following book series:
These three-year, renewable positions will involve all aspects of the review and development process up to the point where manuscripts are turned over for production. Associate editors will engage in efforts to develop approved projects and publicize and promote books in the series. For example, the associate editor might work on special projects (such as collecting reviews, ensuring that graphics and other illustrations conform to size and resolution requirements, reviewing permissions for materials from other sources, and so on). All Clearinghouse books are available in open-access formats, so a strong commitment to open-access publishing will be viewed favorably.
The associate editor position provides an important mentoring opportunity for those interested in editing and publishing. Beyond a line on the CV, those chosen will gain first-hand insights into the editorial process. Please note that, as are all positions with the WAC Clearinghouse, these positions are unpaid.
Please send a letter of interest and a CV to the series editors and Mike Palmquist (Mike.Palmquist@ColoState.edu). Contact information is available on the book series pages. Graduate students and early-career faculty in both contract and tenure-line appointments are particularly encouraged to apply. Positions will remain open until filled.
