2019 STEMwrite Institute Accepting Applications

The 2019 STEMwrite Institute invites faculty teams from the biological sciences to a multi-day institute that will (1) acquaint them with evidence that indicates positive impacts assigned writing can have on conceptual learning, and (2) provide a sequenced workshop in which they will develop brief, high-impact writing prompts to implement in large-enrollment introductory biology courses.

EAC Deadline Extended

Due to server problems when Hong Kong was hit by a super typhoon (Category 4 hurricane equivalent) in the last two days, the deadline for abstract submission to the 2nd English Across the Curriculum (EAC) Conference is postponed until this Wednesday 19 September 2018, 12.00 midnight Hong Kong time.

OJELA, Winter/Spring 2019: Leading Literate Lives Call for Manuscripts

The Ohio Journal of English Language Arts has issued a call for manuscripts for the Winter/Spring 2019 issue, focused on the theme, Leading Literate Lives. The issue will “examine the role of literacy in all subject areas and the intersection of content area literacy and ELA.” OJELA is a publication of OCTELA, the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts.

Submissions are due by October 15, 2018.

The second International Conference on English Across the Curriculum (EAC) will be held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on December 4th and 5th, 2018, with pre-conference workshops on December 3rd, 2018.
