A project funded by the Council of Writing Program Administrators

This video, presented with the permission of the Council of Writing Program Administrators, provides excerpts from interviews conducted by 25 different filmmakers across the country. In her observations on the video, Linda Adler-Kassner writes that the film "is about how people—actual students, teachers, others—feel about their own writing. They talk about when they feel competent as writers and when they do not, about how they know when they have done a good job with writing and when they have not; about when writing has mattered or not mattered, and what difference that investment has made to them. ... The questions used to elicit this narrative ... focus on specifics—on real individuals (the interviewees, actual people whom they know) and on real writing situations" (The Activist WPA, 267).\
