True, the work can come to us...my class is embarking on a project where
they'll be doing a newsletter and an analysis of the new welfare bill for
Community Action for the Brattleboro Area (coordinate shelters, job
training, second hand clothing, literacy skills, etc. for poor and
displaced). We've arranged those types of assignments because there
isn't very flexible transportation for getting from Marlboro College to
Brattleboro.
So to the question of how we begin to find alternatives, one is of course
the technology we're using now as an aid to marketing, to finding people
who would want what we offer.
O.k. good step. What exactly do we offer, how can we augment the
technology, and if we're going to build an alternate educational model, a
deinstitutionalized, or heck, chaotic one, what else can we say besides
'use the Net,' which, I should say, will probably end up in one of those
name books folk get when they're having their first baby next to the name
Eric.
