Transforming validity

I agree with your reading of Beth's post, Richard. We're in the process of
exchanging (or maybe transforming) measures of validity. But I keep
thinking that 'validity' is more of a function than specific thing or
structure. What I mean is: Perhaps validity is not inextricably tied to
'restrictive, ordered, safe' authority. What if we validate chaos?
