I chuckled when I read Eric's offering. I struggle to figure out
what goes into the blanks. But then I began to wonder if Eric thinks that
without the missing words the idea is incommunicable. Are there no other
ways of saying what one intends than to use these particular words? I
think this is at least part of what the objections to these words has been
about. If a significant number of people object to particular language
and I, as a writer, am aware of those objections than I'm also, as a
writer, willing to search for other ways of saying what I want said. I'd
like to say something that I think others are at least willing to "listen"
to. --stephen
