Some of them are back to work, but many are making less and/or working
more to make as much. Unemployment stats count people as working even if
they are working part time. There was a Barron's cover story about two
years ago on how unemployment is figured. Also there was a Barron's
about one year ago about how a lot folks who give money to higher ed.,
business foundations and patrons, expect some downsizing.
Also, there was that recent Time parody by Garrison Keillor that I posted
to Rhetnt-L a while back that made fun of Total Quality Empowerment in a
post downsized office.
I know you're probably aware of some of this, but thought I'd mention it
for the archives...
