Despite it's having been referred to here as the "Jensen stuff," I'd higly
recommend anyone interested in differences in writing processes look at the
work of George Jensen and John DiTiberio. Their first book, _Personality and
the Teaching of Compostion_ (Ablex, 1989) is directed to comp teachers. Their
second book, _Writing & Personality_ (Davies-Black, 1995), is intended for
a wider audience.
FWIW, I *hate* to freewrite. However, I do know many of my students benefit
from it.
