I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus that's mentioned what a
wonderful discussion this has been/is being. I've really been pushed to
articulate my thoughts on this subject, and to examine my assumptions. I
see that if I'm going to try to flout or subvert the conventions of the
academy, I need to do a whole lot of explaining to the people in my
classes. I don't think I've done that very well so far, but I've now got
a lot of ideas about how I might begin.
