Dear Ed,
You are correct, I think. "To problematize" within the
ideological context that you have outlined works quite well. Outside of
that ideological stance (and perhaps even before the world was enlightened
by post modernism), a verb such as "to evaluate" might work equally as
well. People are capable of identifying and responding to injustice using
all sorts of vocabularies, including the post modern.
