Along the lines of other projects, similar to what's being formulated
here, and in addition to whatever the one is at Blacksburg,
VA, there is also some precedent in "The University of the Streets" which
was started in NYC about 30 yrs ago and is still, I'm pretty sure, still
going. I'll check to see if they are online.
Same issues of credit, etc. would have had to be dealt with by these
folks, even though the context and audience is different for their
programs (they were going for young people who were disaffected by the
idea of college, but interested in learning about the world).
