Call for Scholarship Applications

The 2018 International Writing Across the Curriculum (IWAC) Conference organizers are pleased to announce the availability of registration scholarships to support scholars and practitioners — national and international — who plan to attend the 2018 IWAC Conference in Auburn, Alabama, June 4-6, 2018, regardless of whether or not they will be presenting.

Application process and selection criteria

Our intent is to encourage representatives from diverse disciplinary, geographical, and institutional contexts; therefore, reviewers will favor a variety of disciplines and contexts to enrich the conference.

The first consideration will be the quality of each application. In the event of numerous highly-competitive applications, reviewers will try to select a diverse group of national and international recipients.

Good candidates are people who, through their essays:

  • demonstrate evidence of their commitment to WAC/WID work;
  • explain how they would benefit from participating in this particular IWAC conference; and
  • describe how this particular IWAC conference would be enriched by their participation.

Scholarships will not be awarded on the basis of described financial need. We assume this condition is met by all scholarship applicants.

A PDF of the Call for Scholarship Applications was available on the website.

Important Dates

The application deadline has passed. Selections have been made by the IWAC Scholarship Committee, and all applicants were notified of their status via email on November 20. If you applied for a scholarship and have not received an email, please contact us at iwac@auburn.edu.
