Abstract: A conference on student writing and critical thinking would be incomplete without student participation and input. Therefore this panel, comprised of three undergraduate students from the food and agricultural sciences, was organized. Each student offered a personal story and perspective on learning to write and to think critically. Each commented on academic experiences that were beneficial in developing these skills. The students offered individual perspectives on what may be missing or what may have need improvement if they were to optimize their learning.
