Join the CompPile Team

Associate Editors

CompPile, the comprehensive database of scholarship in rhetoric, writing studies, and composition, invites applications for Associate Editors to help us extend and sustain the database. CompPile has recently joined the WAC Clearinghouse and is continuing to evolve. These positions are likely to grow and change as we move forward. As is the case with all positions associated with CompPile and the Clearinghouse, these positions are unpaid. (Open-access publishing does not generally generate a great deal of revenue.) That said, these position offer significant opportunities for professional growth and a chance to contribute to an important scholarly initiative.

Associate Editors will:

  • meet monthly (virtually) with the editors and associate editors to maintain CompPile
  • review CompPile entries in a key subject area and determine goals for the area
  • discover new, pertinent scholarship to be added to CompPile.

This will likely include:

  • working with editors / publishers to acquire tables of contents to use for indexing
  • converting tables of contents into CompPile entries
  • recruiting and collaborate with indexers (field bibliographers) – (e.g., students, colleagues, editors)
  • ensuring accuracy of all new and updated entries

How To Apply

Please send applications and inquiries to Susan Wolff Murphy and Glenn Blalock, the editors of CompPile, at comppile@gmail.com. To apply, please send email describing interests with c.v. attached. Thanks, and please share widely!
