Implications

The use of computer technology in teaching contexts can be two-handed. On one hand, computers can inspire fear in language learners, both native and second language, which is unfortunate because fear prevents them from taking advantage of potentially rewarding learning contexts. On the other hand, computers can inspire a passion in language learners, which is also unfortunate if they spend too much time at the computer thinking this easier than other forms of communicating (Michael Barlow 3).
