Reviewing CW2K: C5 Assessment and Reflection on Electronic Texts

This dynamic set of presentations provided almost too much to take in all at once, and raised enough compelling questions to make one's head spin. Although they all focused on different things – Kathleen Blake Yancey dealt with issues of assessment theory of electronic texts, Jeanne Po explored the authentic assessment possibilities of electronic portfolios, Henrietta Shirk considered the ways evaluation of teachers in distance learning environments can both empower and punish teachers, and Flo Walsh presented a new program which allows teachers to insert common comments into students' texts with the touch of a button – all four women proved themselves to be paving the way for new ways of thinking and new innovations in the computers and writing field.
