Reviewing CCCC 2000: Tripled Essay Writing

We have started thinking about reviewing this 51st annual Conference on College Composition and Communication at its very first Wednesday morning workshop, "Writing Teachers Re-Imagining Writing: A Workshop For Essay Writers." Christina, a workshop participant, Dona Hickey and Will Hochman used workshop time to begin some thinking about academic writing. We used a version of "Transactional Dynamics of Paired Fiction Writing" (http://www. daedalus.com/wings/hochman.5.2.html) to collaboratively freewrite the following three essay beginnings. Each draft has clots from each writer. Our workshop efforts were focused on getting a better idea of how academic writing affects our sense of essay writing.
