Reviewing CCCC 2000: Integrating Rhetoric and Poetic: Inviting the Soul Into Writing For Composition Classes (F.27)

This was an uneven panel presentation. Carol Reeves began with a reading of a confused paper working "Toward A Theory of Rhetoric of Poetry," but then Debra Galliher and Missy-Maire Montgomery got the session in gear with some well crafted arguments that pointed out some creative and useful ways to use poetry to enhance composing processes in the composition classroom. The session was chaired by Peter Elbow who reiterated his expressivist ideas during the Q&A.
