He has a strong background in linguistics, also. What interested me first
about his work was that he explained how ideology and language come together
at the level of grammar, using specific sentences and passages from
Australian print news sources to show how, for example, nominalizations of
verbs remove agency from action and consequently, responsiblity for those
actions.
