Subject: Re: Martin's Larger Vision for WAC
Art can talk to Clemson's current WAC/CAC program better than I, but I
have to relate one experience I had here that impressed me. I walked
into what was actually a CAC workshop being put on by Forestry profs
for their students and staff. It wasn't announced as such or billed
as such, but they were doing CAC work because it seemed to be valued
in the department, and it had no connection that I could see with the
official CAC program here other than that it was coming out of a
culture where communication was valued across campus. That, I think,
is a sign of success. Judging by the attendance at our 17 or so
workshops this year, there is some balance of interest between
part-time and full time profs. here at Clemson. A nice sign as well.
Again, Art may have a more accurate picture of the effort here.
