Sorry, I would have got back to you sooner but had a few cavities
filled today and was out of sorts for a while there. I would enjoy a
Tuesday Cafe session on these issues. There is certainly plenty to
discuss. Rather than posing the discussion as an opposition, however, I'd
like to frame it as a forum for discussing a range of pedagogical
practices and pedagogical claims.
I also like your idea of working together across a couple
of venues to explore some of the issues that get raised next week. I
feel strongly that those of us in academic writing need to take a good
look at the claims we make. Now is a perfect time. Thanks for the
invitation.
