Reviewing CCCC 2000: Shift Happens (Again): From Lan- To Wan-Based Instructional Support (K.28)

This session gave Barbara Monroe, Rebecca Rickly and Mike Palmquist a chance to explain how Washington State U, Texas Tech U, and Colorado State U have given their first year writers and graduate assistants a plethora of support materials delivered with simple Web access. Presenters could not explain why students and teachers used or ignored Web resources, though it was clear that their work described new and important horizons of learning space. Monroe, Rickly and Palmquist are some of the early adapters of technology when it comes to writing instruction and their learning curves and vision of future uses of computers gave audience members a good deal of energy and insight into the ways we may integrate technological resources into our teaching lives.
